Kayla obtained her LLB degree from North-West University in 2021 and subsequently completed her LLM in Environmental Law and Governance in 2023.
She completed her articles at a boutique law firm in Pretoria, specialising in all areas of Planning, Development, Environmental and Municipal Law in South Africa from 2023 to 2025.

Kayla is currently awaiting admission as both an Attorney and Notary after passing all of the board examinations as well as the notarial examination during her articles.

On 1 February 2025, Kayla joined the SHE department at Tabacks as a Junior Associate, with the intention of further developing her expertise in all areas of Environmental Health and Safety Law.
